Final Outcome

Prior to the stop motion rotation, my experience with stop frame animation was most with straight-ahead, puppet animation. Creating all the frames beforehand was extremely convenient and made the shooting process go very quickly, however because some of my frame pieces were very small, it was quite difficult at times. I think a major shortfall of our animation was definitely the inconsistencies in lighting and the background. Certain shots had a near black background while others were brighter and even at times showed the white table underneath. If I could reshoot it, I would take extra time to make sure that the entire animation stays consistent with lighting.

Additionally, I feel like we didn’t experiment as much as we could have with our animation. Seeing the work of others, using backgrounds, lighting and even pixelation, I think we could have driven our ideas even further outside of the box. That being said, I think this was overall a good experiment with replacement animation, which could be brought further throughout my work.
